Supporting Lebanese children in their schooling
Intellectual, human, social and spiritual education, especially for orphans and disadvantaged children
Context
The situation in Lebanon has been particularly tense in recent years, reaching extremes since the explosion in the port of Beirut in August 2020.
The massive influx of refugees on its territory (no less than 1.7 million Syrian refugees, 500,000 Palestinian refugees and also many Iraqis) coupled with numerous state failures have led to extreme economic pressure on Lebanese families. More than 80% families are now estimated to live below the poverty line.
For a while, public schools have not been able to meet expectations (insufficient infrastructure and low quality training) and increasing amounts of families are no longer able to afford the cost of schooling for their children. They therefore go to private Christian schools which provide quality education.
Beneficiaries
Lebanese children in kindergarten, primary and secondary school who are in a precarious situation.
Results

– since September 2022, support of 76 children through the Ecole d’Orientation Sociale (EOS) in Mrouj;
All the students show positive results at the end of the school year.
